Not a vinegar convert? No worries. Turn to The Healing Powers of Olive Oil (and chocolate). Yes, both contain good for you disease-fighting properties like vinegars. But these are even more fun.

This is a nice list. I already do most of these things including I got rid of my dryer a couple years ago and exclusively use a clothes drying rack for all my laundry. I would love a list of suggestions for those of us who have accomplished these first steps.

Go to a thrift store in your area and try to go on a day when the prices are cut in half. You would be surprised at the treasures you find in a thrift store.

I don't like being dependant upon medication and went searching the web for something else. I found this new gadget called a liquid ioniser. It creates the same effect you get whenit rains. Its liquidions vaporise as they drift to every corner of the room and quickly lock out the airbornes particles giving the same clean air you get after a thunderstorm or rains. It really worked for me and its silent and unobtrusive

Although simple and common sense things, they are essential for maintaining clean air free of allergins and dust, as you say. Many people forget to do these things...and that includes myself, especially in giving this topic a mention in my boo on healthy living (StrategicBookPublishing.com/TransformingBodyMindAndSpirit.html).

Wall design has become something of interest, as of late, with the rising cost in energy prices. A lot of builders are liking the idea of walls that are a bit thicker in an exterior build. Many are looking at 12-inch-thick exterior walls with a high R value, which is the rating given a substance's thermal resistance. That gives you better energy values, and combined with better Green materials that go inside the walls, this could save a homeowner substantial money in overall energy cost.

I am wondering why Ed Begley Jr. did not choose to have a tankless water heater in his home. Isn't the A.O. Smith Vertex unit a continuous hot water heater (using more energy than the tankless units which are not continuous) ? I appreciate the efficiency of the Vertex unit and that's a great thing. But how does it compare to the tankless water heaters in terms of cost to the owner ? I have an A. O. Smith propane water heater which is already 10 years old and I am trying to decide what kind of unit I will purchase when my current heater needs to be replaced. Thanks. Margaret Hoerst
